Teen Bus Scheme
The current Member of Youth Parliament Faisal Shafiq has been liasing with the Boroughs Transport Team and Courtney Coaches about operating a 'pilot' discounted token scheme for 13 - 18 year olds. Reducing the cost of transport in the Borough was a key part of Faisals MYP manifesto for this year.
From 20th January 2010 young people aged 13 - 18 years old will now be able to benefit from a discounted rate on Courtney Coaches bus services around the Borough. This scheme has been funded by the Youth Opportunity Fund.
How the discount works
Young people buy bus tokens and they will receive the same amount of tokens for free. This means that if someone buys 5 tokens they will get another 5 for free, so they will receive 10 tokens. Each token is valid for a single journey of any distance on any of Courtney's Borough Services. A young person who buys 5 tokens will get 10 single journeys for their money (the 5 they paid for and the 5 free journeys)
How to get your tokens
The process can take up to 15 working days.
- Please read the terms and condition first
- Fill in and send your application form along with your photocopied ID to Fran O'Mahony at Highway Services, 4th Floor, York Stream House, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1RF.
- You will then be sent a bus pass.
- You can now use your bus pass to purchase your tokens at the following locations:

Terms and Conditions
Who is able to get tokens
- You must live in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead
- You must be between the ages of 13 and 18 years old.
- You must have fully completed the Teen Bus Scheme Application form and been issued with a pass.
Tokens
- You can buy up to 20 tokens a month. This means you can get 40 per month as you will receive 20 free tokens.
- You can only buy 3, 5 or 10 tokens at a time. So you will receive either 6, 10 or 20 tokens.
- You can buy tokens up until 31st March 2010, but can use them up to 1st July 2010.
- Tokens can not be refunded once bought.
- We can only except cash payments for the tokens.
- Passes must be shown when using your tokens to pay for your travel
Times you are able to use the tokens
- You can only use your tokens after 4.30pm Monday to Friday. The tokens can be used at any time on Saturdays and Sundays and Statutory School Holidays.
Withdrawal of Pass
- Tokens are a concession that can be withdrawn at any time for the following reasons: Physical or verbal behaviour that is deemed to be unsuitable and/or the sharing of your pass/tokens.
