Horton YAG
Aeros
Who are we?
We are the Horton and Wraysbury Youth Action Group and our aim is to improve our community for young people.
The group offers us the opportunity to socialise, meet new people and fundraise for activities. We currently meet at Champney Hall in Horton between 5.30pm - 6.45pm. There are currently 10 regular members in our group aged between 13 -16 years old, however any young person aged between 11-18 can join the group.
The objectives of Aeros...
- To make new friends
- To make the community a better place
- To improve relationships between travellers and non-travellers.
The are a variety of reason why we all decided to join the group. These include:
- To socialise
- Help our community
- To give us something to do
- For the free food
- To participate in trips and opportunities
What we have achieved...
We have successfully had a Youth Opportunity Fund bid of £16,000, which will pay for a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and other improvements in the area. We are now working with the Parish Council to get the MUGA installed.
We have also had funding for some social activities including; Bowling, Ice Skating, Go Karting and a trip to the Cinema. Some of these activities will be open to other young people in the area to attend.
Future Plans
The main aim for the next few months is working on the installation of the MUGA. We also hope to apply for money in order to attend a team building residential.
