Get Berkshire Active week 1st-9th June 2013
Get Berkshire Active week is happening across the county between Saturday 1st and Sunday 9th June. Offering a range of free and discounted opportunities for local residents to try a new sport or activity, all age groups are catered for with a huge variety of activities on offer to help encourage residents to kick start a more active lifestyle.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are teaming up with Get Berkshire Active, the County Sports Partnership to support the first Get Berkshire Active week following the success of the previous local Sports Bug initiative with clubs and groups from across Berkshire putting on a range of taster sessions in their sport or activity for local people of all ages.
You can find out about the sports and activities on offer during Get Berkshire Active week at www.getberkshireactive.org/events with more adding on day by day. There are sessions for all the family and for sporty and non sporty individuals, local sports already signed up include martial arts, sailing, softball and cycling to name a few.
Summer Youth Project Survey
Norden Farm Centre for the Arts currently are looking into running a Summer Youth Project to bridge the gap between School and College/Apprenticeships/Work for 16-18 year olds. The focus of the 12 week project would be about giving young people the opportunity to learn from arts professionals and staff at Norden Farm and them deliver sessions to the community and young people.Please complete this short survey as we would like to hear young peoples view on whether there is a need for this scheme and whether they would like to participant in it.
