Having sex is special - think about it first !

Saying No...

No one has the right to pressurise you into having sex.

1. It is your life and your body, don't give in to peer pressure
2. It is never too late to say NO - even if you are not a virgin
3. Sex won't make you love each other and a baby won't keep you together
4. Not wanting sex doesn't mean you're abnormal or frigid
5. No one wants gossip and a reputation for easy sex
6. A few moments of pleasure may bring a lifetime of regret

Remember - Lots of young people lie about having sex

Ways of saying NO...

1. I don't feel ready for sex yet - can we wait?
2. Just because I don't want to have sex doesn't mean I don't love you
3. I am not 16 yet and it is against the law
4. Sex before marriage is against my religion & beliefs
5. If you love me you won't pressure me into doing something I don't want
6. I don't want to do something I may regret later

Remember - Sex without consent is rape

If you feel ready to say YES to sexual relationships...

1. Be comfortable with your decision
2. Are you sure you are both sure?
3. Be sure it's at the right time and in the right place for both of you
4. Make it a special time because it is!Don't let drink or drugs spoil the natural high
5. Use contraception to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (condoms offer protection)
